The University of Rochester women's swimming and diving team celebrated a historic achievement as sophomore Kaela Springer won the NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championship on March 1. Competing at RIT's Judson Pool, Springer scored 461.45 points on the 3-meter board, edging out Lydia Benjamin of SUNY Geneseo by just over five points. This victory marks Springer as the first NCAA Regional diving champion in Rochester's history, earning her a spot in the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships in Indianapolis. Junior teammate Julia Sides also competed, finishing ninth with a score of 418.55 points.
In men's basketball, Rochester concluded its season with a narrow 93-89 loss to #3 Emory University on March 1. The defeat capped a challenging year for the Yellowjackets, who finished with an 11-14 record (4-10 UAA). Despite the loss, Rochester set a new school record for scoring average in a season, averaging 82.3 points per game. Seniors Tomiwa Adetosoye and Corvin Oprea led the team with 24 and 19 points, respectively, in their final collegiate game.
The men's squash team faced a disappointing end to their season at the College Squash Association Divisional Championships, losing 8-1 to #13 MIT in the quarterfinals on February 28. The Yellowjackets then fell to #17 Middlebury 5-4 in the consolation semifinals on March 1, concluding their season with a 6-8 record. Gilberto Aceves Moreno provided a highlight for Rochester, winning at the No. 1 spot against Middlebury after a resilient comeback from a game-one defeat.
