Dartmouth men's swimming and diving standout McCoy Lyman has made headlines this week by qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. At the NCAA Zone A Championships in Annapolis, Maryland, Lyman captured the title on the 1-meter board with a score of 664.65, securing his spot at the NCAA Championships. He also excelled on the 3-meter board, finishing fourth overall with a score of 713.30, further solidifying his status as a top diver in the region. His performances mark a significant milestone for the program, showcasing Lyman's skill and determination. On the women's side, Margaret Lambdin also competed, finishing 17th in the 3-meter final.
In men's basketball, the Big Green saw two players recognized for their achievements this season. Brandon Mitchell-Day earned an All-Ivy Honorable Mention after starting all 27 games and surpassing 1,000 career points, becoming only the 33rd player in program history to do so. Jackson Munro was named to the Academic All-Ivy team, highlighting his contributions on and off the court. Meanwhile, the program announced a leadership change, as head coach David McLaughlin's contract will not be renewed after a decade at the helm.
In squash, Callan Venkatesan was named one of The Richards Group Athletes of the Week after an impressive performance at the CSA National Team Championship. He went 3-0, including a comeback victory against Princeton, and capped off the tournament with a decisive win over Cornell. His efforts contributed significantly to the team's success this season, showcasing the depth of talent within the program.
