Fellow Lions include Fine, seeded No. 16 at 157 pounds, who will compete against Northern Iowa's Jared Sima, and Mueller, the Ivy League Champion at 285, who is the No. 17 seed and will meet Virginia Tech's Jimmy Mullen. Owen, seeded No. 19 at 157, will also represent Columbia against No. 14 Ethen Miller from Virginia Tech. The championships begin Thursday, marking a significant moment for the program.
Meanwhile, the Columbia men's swimming and diving team wrapped up its season at the NCAA Zones, where Will Cooley highlighted the event with a fifth-place finish in the platform dive. Cooley also performed well on the 3-meter boards, achieving his highest placement to date at 19th. On the 1-meter, Nicol finished 24th, while Cooley placed 39th. Head Diving Coach Donie praised the leadership of seniors Joe and Chloe, reflecting on their contributions to the team. With the conclusion of the NCAA Zones, the swimming and diving season officially comes to an end, leaving a legacy of strong performances and promising futures for the graduating athletes.
