Kennedy Kirkland of the Bowdoin women's track and field team has once again made her mark on the national stage, earning Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Championships held in Birmingham, Alabama. Kirkland placed 13th overall in the women's long jump, clearing a distance of 5.47 meters (17-11 ¾) on her third attempt. This achievement not only secures her status as an All-American for the second consecutive year but also highlights her growth, as she finished four spots higher than her seeding entering the competition. Kirkland is Bowdoin's first women's long jump All-American, having previously placed sixth last winter.
The Bowdoin women's golf team delivered a record-setting performance at the Savannah Invitational, finishing eighth in a competitive field. The team set new program records for both 18-hole and 36-hole scoring, showcasing their improvement and depth as they navigate the spring season. Meanwhile, the men's golf team opened their spring campaign with a strong showing at the Fernandina Beach Collegiate Invitational in Amelia Island, Florida. Led by a school-record score of 66 from golfer Eskin, the team secured a fourth-place finish out of 12 teams, posting a three-round total of +25 (+6, +8, +11). Both teams are poised for continued success as they progress through their respective seasons.
