The Bantams, now 28-2, established an early lead, thanks in part to seven points from Henry Vetter, and maintained control throughout the game, despite a late push from the Blazers. Trinity will face the winner of the matchup between the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of St. Thomas in the next round.
In wrestling, sophomore Ty Trickle represented Trinity at the NCAA Division III National Championships held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Trickle secured one victory in the 141-pound bracket, finishing his season with a record of 23-10, which ties him for the tenth most wins in program history. After a narrow loss in his opening match, Trickle rebounded with a decisive 7-2 victory over Kaden Ware of Penn Tech before being eliminated by an 8-6 decision against Joshua Robinson of North Central. This marked Trinity's first appearance at the national championships in three seasons.
On the track, first-year Olivia Carney capped off her remarkable indoor season by earning Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Competing in the 200-meter dash, Carney set a new personal best and program record with a time of 24.74 seconds, finishing 13th overall. She has established herself as the fastest 200m runner in the Mideast Region and the top first-year short sprinter in the nation, solidifying her status as a standout athlete for the Bantams.
