The MIT women's basketball team has earned seven NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team honors, reflecting the program's commitment to academic excellence. Among the honorees, Joseph received her fourth award, while Abdelbarr, Baller, Chan, Tam, and Zacks were recognized as repeat recipients. This achievement underscores the strong academic performance of the team, which saw a total of 86 student-athletes across the conference qualify for this award.
Meanwhile, the men's basketball team led the NEWMAC with 12 Academic All-Conference selections, the highest number from any institution in the conference. This recognition highlights the academic prowess of the team, with a total of 49 student-athletes honored across the league. Both teams met the criteria of maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and achieving second-year academic status, showcasing their dedication to balancing athletics and academics.
In swimming and diving, the women's team saw 26 members earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference recognition, contributing to a total of 93 students across the conference. The men's team also excelled, with 22 members receiving similar honors out of a total of 79 awardees. These accolades reflect the commitment of both swim and dive teams to academic excellence, paralleling the achievements of their basketball counterparts.
