Dartmouth men's ice hockey forward Hayden Stavroff has made history by becoming the first player from the program to win the prestigious Walter Brown Award, which recognizes the top American-born Division I hockey player in New England. Stavroff's remarkable season included leading the nation with 29 goals and ranking seventh in points per game at 1.37. His accolades also include being named the ECAC Player of the Year and Ivy League Player of the Year, along with being a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. This recognition underscores a standout year for Stavroff, who significantly improved his performance from his freshman season.
In women's golf, the Big Green secured a second-place finish at the Prospect Bay Invitational in Kent Island, Maryland. Sophie Thai led the way, tying for first place after shooting a +2 74 in the first round and a 75 in the second, which included an eagle and three birdies. Teammates Hope Hall and Sophia Li also performed well, tying for fourth place with Hall bouncing back from an 80 in the first round to card a +1 73 in the second. Li's even-par 72 in the second round was the best score for Dartmouth in that round, contributing to the team's overall strong showing.
Dartmouth men's basketball has announced the hiring of Brett MacConnell as its new head coach. MacConnell, who brings 14 years of Division I experience and a deep understanding of the Ivy League, aims to revitalize the program.
