Kaela Springer, a sophomore diver for the University of Rochester, has been named a Second-Team All-American by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association for her performance at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. Competing in the 3-meter dive, Springer finished 14th overall with a score of 423.60 points, showcasing her resilience by rallying from a lower position in the preliminaries. This recognition marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the 148th All-American in the history of the Rochester women's swimming and diving program, the first since 2021.
In women's basketball, three players from the University of Rochester have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. Senior Bridget Miller, junior Tia Poulakidas, and sophomore Deniz Alparslan were recognized for their academic achievements, each maintaining a GPA of at least 3.50 while competing in over 90% of their team's contests. Miller, who started 23 games this season, averaged 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, demonstrating both academic and athletic excellence.
On the men's basketball front, senior guard Corvin Oprea has also been selected for the CSC Academic All-District Team. Oprea, who led the Yellowjackets in scoring with an average of 17.8 points per game, started all 25 games this season and received accolades including Second-Team All-University Athletic Association honors. His consistent performance and leadership on the court have been pivotal for the team.
In men's golf, sophomore Alvin Su has been recognized as both the UAA Men's Golf Athlete of the Week and the Liberty League Men's Golf Performer of the Week after an impressive showing at the Jekyll Island Invitational. Su finished tied for 6th among a competitive field of 150 golfers with a total score of 10-under par, contributing to the Yellowjackets' 22nd place finish in a tournament featuring numerous nationally-ranked teams. This marks Su's second UAA honor and third Liberty League accolade this season, underscoring his significant impact on the team.
