The Army West Point track and field program has concluded a successful outing at the Florida Relays, held on April 4 and 5 in Gainesville, Florida. The Black Knights showcased their strength early in the outdoor season, setting two new school records. Mikayla Cheney delivered a standout performance in the 1,500 meters, clocking in at 4:13.81 to finish sixth overall, marking the fastest time in program history. Additionally, the women's 4x400-meter relay team, comprised of Faith Kibbe, Simone Tillman, Sabrina Sardar, and Skye Chambers, broke the previous school record with a time of 3:40.42. Other notable performances included strong showings from Chambers and several athletes who contributed to Army's impressive presence at the event, where 16 of their event groups ranked in the USTFCCCA Top 25.
In wrestling, Wolfgang Frable and Andrew Christie have been recognized as NWCA Scholar All-Americans for their academic excellence and competitive achievements. Frable, a Computer Science major, capped off his career with a fifth-place finish at the EIWA Championships in the 197-pound weight class and played a crucial role in a dramatic dual meet victory against Navy. Christie, a junior majoring in Biology, finished fourth at the EIWA Championships this season, narrowly missing an NCAA berth. Their recognition highlights the balance of academic and athletic commitment that defines the Army wrestling program.
