The Middlebury men's swimming and diving team has garnered recognition as four of its members—Andrew Dou, Luke McNamara, Paul Shen, and Owen White—were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections. Dou, a double major in economics and mathematics, contributed to a school record in the 400-yard medley relay at the NESCAC Championships and won three individual events earlier in the season. McNamara, also an economics major, was instrumental in the same relay and secured four individual victories in backstroke and butterfly events. Meanwhile, the women's swimming and diving team, ranked #25, saw Hannah Baumgartner, Emma Hall, Lauren Jolley, and Anna McGrew receive the same Academic All-District honors. Baumgartner, a two-time honoree, recently earned her first CSCAA All-American accolade at the NCAA Championships, contributing to a 15th-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. McGrew also excelled at the NCAA meet, achieving First-Team All-American honors in the 50-yard freestyle and breaking the program record in the 100-yard freestyle.
In hockey, Avery McInerny and Trinity Walsh were named to the New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) Division III All-Star Team. McInerny, a senior forward, had a standout season, finishing tied for second in the league with 20 assists and third in total points with 30. She also earned CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association All-American East honors and was named to the All-NESCAC First Team. Walsh, also recognized for her contributions, secured her first NEHWA All-Star accolade.
On the football front, five Panthers—Mike Ahonen, Owen Halter, Shane Johnson, Brian Moran, and William Zambito—were honored by the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society for their academic and athletic achievements. These seniors contributed to a successful program over their careers, including a NESCAC Co-Championship in 2023. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.20 and have completed their final year of eligibility in 2025.
