Columbia men's golf first-year Neil Kulkarni achieved a runner-up finish at the Princeton Invitational, concluding the tournament with a total score of even-par 213. In the final round, Kulkarni shot a 2-under-par 69, featuring five birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey. Starting the day tied for seventh, he quickly climbed the leaderboard with an early birdie and finished strong with back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes. This marks Kulkarni's second runner-up finish of the season, solidifying his promising start in collegiate golf.
In women's squash, Columbia celebrated academic excellence as eight men and three women were honored with CSA Scholar Athlete Awards. This recognition is given to student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher while competing in CSA-sanctioned matches. Among the recipients, women’s squash athletes Eugenia Li, Shaivi Rau, and Advita Sharma stood out, contributing to the program's reputation for balancing academic and athletic success.
The Columbia track and field teams are gearing up for a busy competition schedule from April 16 to April 19, following a successful outing at the Rutgers Relays. First-year Mia Hoskins won the hammer throw with a distance of 54.79 meters, while Marcus Blasucci took first in the shot put with a throw of 16.49 meters. The women’s team placed fifth overall, accumulating 54 points, while the men finished 11th with 25 points. The Lions will compete at multiple prestigious events this week, including the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays, showcasing their talent on a national stage.
