The Williams College women's rowing team delivered a dominant performance at the Donahue Cup, sweeping all events against Connecticut College, WPI, Simmons, Clark, and Pacific Lutheran on April 12. Despite challenging conditions with strong winds and white-capping waves on Lake Quinsigamond, the Ephs' first varsity eight, coxed by Ariana Oppenheimer, surged ahead early and maintained a significant lead to secure victory. The second and third varsity eights also triumphed, showcasing the depth and skill of the team. The men's rowing team also competed at the Donahue Cup, finishing second in the first varsity eight race with a time of 5:45.16, narrowly missing first place to MIT. However, the Ephs excelled in the second varsity eight, winning decisively with a time of 5:55.96.
In lacrosse, the Williams women's team faced a challenging match against #5 Amherst on April 12, ultimately falling 13-9 on Senior Day. Despite a strong start, leading 3-0 early in the game, the Ephs could not maintain momentum as the Mammoths surged ahead in the second quarter. Franny Donohue led the Ephs with three goals and three assists, but the team could not recover from a second-quarter deficit. Meanwhile, the men's lacrosse team lost a closely contested game against Amherst, 10-9, on April 12. Ryan Nagle scored three goals, but the Ephs were unable to secure possession in the final moments after narrowing the score in the dying seconds.
The Williams baseball team split a doubleheader against Wesleyan on April 12, losing the first game 10-4 but rebounding to win the second 13-5. The Ephs now hold a record of 7-14 overall and 2-4 in NESCAC play. In track and field, both the men's and women's teams competed at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational and the Bison Outdoor Classic, with notable performances including Emil Nelson's first-place finish in the men's 5,000m and Charlene Peng's victory in the women's 3000m steeplechase, both setting personal bests. The Ephs continue to build momentum as the season progresses, with upcoming competitions on the calendar.
