The MIT women's lacrosse team achieved a hard-fought 16-13 victory against Endicott College on April 8. Despite a late rally from the Gulls, the Engineers managed to maintain their lead, bolstered by a strong performance from Ashley Thomas, who contributed significantly with three assists and a goal. The game saw a back-and-forth battle, with MIT responding to an early Endicott lead by scoring four consecutive goals, eventually pulling ahead with another four-goal run in the second half. With this win, MIT improves to 10-3 overall.
In baseball, the Engineers faced a challenging matchup against No. 22 Tufts University on April 8, ultimately falling 15-3 in a seven-inning contest. Dalton Chi kicked off the game with a lead-off home run, and Zev Moore added a two-RBI double in the sixth inning, but the team could not overcome the deficit against a strong Tufts lineup.
On the academic front, MIT's football program celebrated the recognition of eleven student-athletes named to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society. This honor underscores the program's commitment to academic excellence, with MIT ranking among the top ten Division III institutions for total honorees. The criteria for selection include maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.2 and being a significant contributor on the field.
In swimming and diving, four members from both the men's and women's teams earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams, acknowledging their dual success in athletics and academics. These athletes will now advance to the Academic All-America ballot, with selections to be announced later this month.
