The Tufts University women's lacrosse team continues to assert its prowess in the NESCAC, overcoming No. 2 Wesleyan University in a tightly contested 11-10 overtime match on April 11, 2026. Senior midfielder Elsa Schutt delivered the decisive blow just over a minute into the extra period, marking her sixth goal of the season. The Jumbos (11-2, 6-2 NESCAC) had initially built a 10-6 lead late in the third quarter, but the Cardinals (10-2, 6-2 NESCAC) rallied back to tie the game with a late surge. Despite a late opportunity for Tufts, Schuyler Lloyd's shot was saved, but Schutt's overtime goal sealed the victory, showcasing the team's resilience and determination.
In men's golf, the Jumbos faced a challenging outing at the Tim Brown Invitational, finishing tied for tenth after a two-day event held at Ballston Spa Country Club. After a promising start that placed them seventh following the first round, the team struggled to maintain momentum, adding ten strokes to their score on the second day. First-year Jason Zawtocki emerged as the standout performer, finishing in seventh place individually with a four-over-par score across 36 holes. His final round included an impressive six birdies, highlighting his potential as a newcomer. Keegan Carnell also made strides, improving his score by four strokes on the second day to finish 52nd overall.
Next up, the women's lacrosse team will look to build on this momentum as they continue their NESCAC campaign, while the men's golf team will seek to refine their performance in upcoming tournaments.
