The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team achieved a hard-fought 10-9 victory over Babson College on April 11, improving their record to 5-8. The Polar Bears' strong performance was marked by key contributions from their offensive unit, which managed to hold off a late surge from the Beavers, who now stand at 7-6. This non-conference win adds momentum as Bowdoin prepares for upcoming NESCAC matchups.
In women's golf, the Polar Bears faced a challenging field at the Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College. Competing against a deep roster of teams, Bowdoin finished in tenth place at The Orchard Golf Club. Despite the tough competition, the experience gained will be invaluable as they look ahead to future tournaments. Meanwhile, the men's golf team also faced stiff competition at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational, where they placed ninth out of 17 teams at Skidmore College’s Ballston Spa Country Club. Both teams continue to develop their skills as the season progresses.
In softball, schedule adjustments were made due to anticipated weather conditions. The Polar Bears' doubleheader against Hamilton College has been moved to Friday, April 17, with the first game starting at 3:00 p.m. Additionally, their matchup against the University of Southern Maine has been postponed and rescheduled for April 30 at 5:00 p.m. These changes reflect the team's adaptability as they navigate the spring season.
