The Colby College men's lacrosse team faced a tough week, falling to No. 2 Bowdoin College 19-12 on April 9 before losing to No. 18 Middlebury College 16-9 on April 12. In the Bowdoin match, the Mules demonstrated resilience, outscoring the Polar Bears 7-2 in the fourth quarter, led by Eli Chilicki, who finished with three goals and two assists. Joey Hagerty also contributed with a hat trick, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Against Middlebury, despite a strong second-half surge, Colby could not close the gap. The Mules outshot the Panthers 36-32 and led in ground balls 28-22, with Quinton Delorey scoring twice in the third quarter to fuel a comeback attempt.
In rowing, both the men's and women's teams competed against the Coast Guard Academy on April 11, with contrasting outcomes. The women's crew managed to win two out of three races despite challenging conditions on the Thames River. The First Varsity boat finished just seven seconds behind Coast Guard, clocking in at 7:39.5. The Second Varsity and Third Varsity boats both secured victories, showcasing the team's depth and ability to perform under pressure. Meanwhile, the men's crew swept all races against Coast Guard, with the First Varsity finishing in 6:17.8, 18 seconds ahead of their opponents, establishing a commanding lead early in the race.
Colby College's track and field team participated in the Monks Invitational on April 12, where Gabriella Bresnick led the women's team with a first-place finish in the pole vault at 2.95 meters. Other notable performances included Ariel Estime's fifth-place finish in the triple jump and Delaney Meagher's fifth in the high jump. On the men's side, Milan Joshi won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.10 seconds, while Logan Lehnert dominated the pole vault with a height of 4.45 meters. The Mules will next compete at the Maine State Championships next weekend.
