Brown University baseball clinches the season series against Harvard with a 6-3 victory on April 21. The Bears' offense was powered by a strong performance from Ben Benevento, who scored three times, including a two-run homer in the seventh inning. Pitcher Reid dominated on the mound, carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finishing with seven strikeouts over seven innings. Christian Keel sealed the win, earning his sixth save by closing out the game with six consecutive outs. Brown's early scoring included an unearned run in the fourth and three more in the fifth, capitalizing on Harvard's defensive errors.
The No. 9 Brown women's crew team is set to compete against Cornell on April 25 in Ithaca, New York. The Bears have shown strong form recently, defeating Columbia and Dartmouth in previous races. At the Ivy Invitational on April 11, both the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight boats achieved victories against ranked opponents, including No. 8 Virginia. Brown has maintained a favorable record against Cornell, winning all six races in their last meeting and holding a 4-0 advantage in dual races since 2020.
In a significant development for the swimming and diving program, Mitch Dalton has been appointed as the new head coach of Brown women's swimming and diving. Dalton joins Brown after a successful six-year stint at the University of Texas, where he contributed to multiple top finishes at NCAA Championships and several conference titles. His experience and leadership are expected to elevate the program as he takes on this new role, emphasizing both athletic excellence and personal development for the student-athletes.
