Dartmouth women's lacrosse honored its seniors with a commanding 19-9 victory over Columbia on April 18, effectively wrapping up its home schedule. After falling behind early, the Big Green rallied to take control of the game with a four-goal run, highlighted by contributions from Fiona O'Keeffe, who scored three goals, and Katie Barr, who added two. Dartmouth's offensive surge allowed them to build a comfortable halftime lead of 10-5, and they maintained their momentum throughout the second half, securing the win on a day dedicated to their senior players.
Meanwhile, the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team faced a challenging matchup against No. 6 Cornell, the defending national champions, on the same day. The Big Green initially took a 4-2 lead in the second quarter, thanks to goals from Alex Jessey and William Stahl. However, Cornell responded with a strong performance, scoring five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to seal a 15-9 victory. Despite the loss, Dartmouth showed resilience, outscoring the Big Red 3-1 in the third quarter, with Jessey netting two goals during that stretch.
In football, the Big Green are currently in the midst of spring camp, having just completed their second week. Head Coach Sammy McCorkle noted improvements in physicality and attention to detail among the players. The team will take a break this week before resuming practices on April 28, leading up to their annual spring game on May 9 at Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field.
