The Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team continued its strong spring season by winning the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan, with a two-day total of 607 (296, 311). This victory marks the Bears' third tournament win of the season. Junior Amy Beanblossom led the way with a third-place finish, shooting a consistent 148 (74, 74), while senior Athena Nguyen secured sixth place with a score of 150 (71, 79). Other notable performances included junior Reagan Robinson and senior Tiffany Chan, who tied for 13th with a score of 155, and first-year Saxon Skinner, who tied for 17th with a 156. The Bears will compete next at the Deb Jackson Invitational hosted by Emory University at the West Pine Golf Club, which will serve as their final regular season event.
In the first round of the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling, the Bears set the tone by finishing atop the leaderboard with a score of 296. Senior Athena Nguyen's 71 placed her second in the individual standings, while junior Amy Beanblossom's 74 put her in a tie for sixth. First-year Saxon Skinner also contributed significantly, carding a 75 to tie for 10th. The team demonstrated depth, with multiple players finishing in the top 20, including senior Tiffany Chan and junior Reagan Robinson. The Bears' strong performance in the opening round set the stage for their eventual victory.
