The Brown men's lacrosse team celebrates notable achievements as Trey Taylor and Marcus Wertheim receive All-American honors from Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse, respectively. Taylor, an Honorable Mention All-American, concluded his senior season with career-highs in ground balls and caused turnovers, starting all 13 games. Meanwhile, Wertheim, who was named a Third Team All-American, led the Bears in assists and points with 46, recording at least one point in every game this season. Both players have been instrumental in Brown's recent successes, with Wertheim also being selected 26th overall in the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League College Draft.
The Brown women's lacrosse team also saw recognition this week as Ruby Sliwkowski earned Honorable Mention All-American status from USA Lacrosse. Sliwkowski, who was also a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, led the team in goals, assists, and points, finishing the season with 39 goals and 25 assists. Her performance included a standout game against Penn, where she scored five goals and assisted three others, securing a place for the Bears in the Ivy League Tournament.
In softball, the Bears concluded their season at the Ivy League Tournament with a mixed bag of results. After eliminating Harvard with an 8-2 victory, Brown's campaign ended in a narrow 2-1 loss to Columbia in 12 innings. Macy Borowski was pivotal in the win against Harvard, throwing a complete game while also contributing offensively with two doubles and two RBIs. Despite the heart-wrenching loss to Columbia, the Bears demonstrated resilience throughout the tournament.
On the track, four female distance runners represented Brown at the New England Championships, a final preparation ahead of the Ivy League Outdoor Heps. Juli Gonzalez led the Bears with a sixth-place finish in the 800m, while Sarah Paul, Bria Benigni, and Megan Jasinski also competed, setting the stage for the upcoming Ivy League meet hosted by Princeton on May 16-17.
In football, Cameron Borges has been appointed as the new Director of Player Personnel, bringing valuable experience from his previous roles in football operations and scouting. Borges's addition is expected to enhance the Bears' recruiting efforts and program management as they prepare for the upcoming season.
