Lehigh University’s softball team celebrated a successful week as junior Peyton Sward and sophomore Kelly Fricker were named to the first team of the All-Patriot League. Sward, who has now achieved All-Patriot League honors three times, batted .371 this season and led the team with 19 stolen bases. Fricker, transitioning to second base this year, had an outstanding season, hitting a league-best .434 and setting a school record with 82 hits. Her performance included 50 RBIs and 53 runs scored, ranking her among the top in program history. Additionally, both players were recognized for their academic achievements, making the Academic All-Patriot League team with 3.80 cumulative GPAs.
In baseball, senior Aidan Quinn and junior Sam Fairhurst, along with senior Owen Walewander, received All-Patriot League honors. Quinn earned first-team recognition for the second consecutive year, finishing the season with a .293 batting average and leading the team with 48 hits and 25 RBIs. Fairhurst, in his first season with Lehigh after transferring, posted a 4.50 ERA and led the team in strikeouts with 54, earning a spot on the second team. Walewander also made the second team as a catcher, contributing significantly to the team's performance throughout the season. This recognition highlights the strong individual performances within both programs as they conclude their respective seasons.
