Harvard women's basketball secured a decisive victory in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament, defeating Navy 73-52 on March 20. The Crimson, led by Karlee White's 19 points, demonstrated a strong defensive performance, limiting Navy's scoring opportunities and establishing an early lead. Abigail Wright and Katie Krupa contributed significantly with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Following this first-round success, Harvard hosted Eastern Kentucky in the second round on March 22, aiming to extend their postseason journey.
In Atlanta, the Harvard women's swimming and diving team concluded its participation in the NCAA Championships, highlighted by Anya Mostek's efforts. Mostek finished 23rd in the 200 backstroke, recording a time of 1:52.94, while Alexandra Bastone competed in the 500 freestyle, finishing 40th. Mostek's performance marked the 14th consecutive season that a Harvard swimmer has appeared at the NCAA Championships, underscoring the program's consistency at the national level. Mostek also faced challenges in the 100 back and 50 free events earlier in the meet, while Bastone had previously placed 27th in the 1650 freestyle.
In wrestling, senior Jimmy Harrington represented Harvard at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland. Harrington achieved an upset victory in the first round, defeating No. 13 seed Derek Raike of Ohio in sudden victory. However, he concluded his tournament run after falling to No. 4 seed Kaleb Larkin of Arizona State in the consolation round. Harrington's performance reflects his resilience and skill, as he competed at the national level for the second consecutive year.
Looking ahead, Harvard women's basketball will seek to build on its momentum as they face Eastern Kentucky, while the swimming and diving season has concluded with promising performances from its athletes.
