The Washington and Lee University women's basketball team concluded its remarkable season in the NCAA Quarterfinals, falling to No. 8 Denison University, 77-64, on March 15. The Generals, ranked third nationally, faced a tightly contested match that featured six lead changes and eight ties. Despite an early lead sparked by back-to-back three-pointers from Adelyn Moore and Ada Taute, the Generals struggled to maintain momentum after Denison ended the first quarter on a 14-5 run. Washington and Lee, which finished the season with a 31-1 record, had previously secured a spot in the quarterfinals by overcoming an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat No. 23 Bethel University, 75-67, in the Round of 16. This marked the first time in program history that the Generals hosted the sectional rounds of the NCAA tournament.
In wrestling, sophomore Liam Flanagan achieved a significant milestone by earning All-America honors with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Flanagan's performance included two victories on the opening day, securing his spot in the semifinals and guaranteeing a top-eight finish. He ultimately faced eventual national champion Peter Kane of Williams in the semifinals. Flanagan's season concluded with an impressive 30-3 record, marking the ninth All-America honor in Washington and Lee wrestling history. The Generals sent a program-record five wrestlers to the national tournament, showcasing the strength of their wrestling program this year.
