The Yale women's rowing team opened its spring season with a commanding performance at the Doc Hosea Invitational in Pennsauken, New Jersey, where they secured the Doc Hosea Cup with a total of 33 points, outpacing No. 9 Virginia, No. 12 Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn, and Northeastern. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 3 nationally, also retained the Connell Cup against Penn, a rivalry they last faced in 2022. Notable performances included a narrow victory in the Varsity Four, where Clara Bernhardt's crew edged Rutgers by just half a second, and a decisive win in the Second Varsity Eight, finishing 11.9 seconds ahead of Rutgers. Head Coach Will Porter acknowledged the team's potential for improvement as they adapt to challenging conditions this spring.
Meanwhile, the Yale men's swimming and diving team concluded its NCAA Championships in Atlanta with several notable achievements, including three Honorable Mention All-American performances. Noah Millard earned All-American honors in the 1650 freestyle, finishing 16th, while Nick Finch set a new Ivy League and Yale record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 44.19, placing ninth. The 200 medley relay team, consisting of Jake Wang, Charlie Egeland, Finch, and Deniel Nankov, also broke a school record with a time of 1:23.16, narrowly missing All-American status. Millard's career culminated in a strong showing, marking him as a four-time All-American and a significant contributor to Yale's swimming legacy. The Bulldogs' next competition is the Princeton Invitational on April 11.
