Brown's track and field teams delivered strong performances at the Raleigh Relays, highlighted by junior Alyssa Jackson tying the program record in the women's outdoor 100m dash with a time of 11.75 seconds. This achievement places her alongside Thelma Breezeatl, whose record has stood for 19 years. Freshman Sydney Ruckett also made waves, finishing eighth in the 400m with a time of 53.93, marking her as the third fastest in Brown history. Overall, the women set five top-10 program marks while the men added two to their records.
In rowing, the No. 7 Women's Crew began its spring season with a challenging competition against No. 6 Princeton, where they secured a victory in the A4 race but fell short in the 1V8, 2V8, and 3V8 events, finishing second in each by a narrow margin. The A4, coxed by Brooke Halvorsen and stroked by Sydney Chait-Walter, completed the race in 8:03.4. The men's crew also faced tough competition at the Benderson Cup in Sarasota, Florida, where they finished third overall, with the Varsity Eight earning a bronze medal. Coach Paul Cooke noted the importance of the experience against top crews as they build towards the season.
In swimming, sophomore Marton Nagy wrapped up his NCAA Championships experience, finishing 36th in the 400 IM and 25th in the 200 IM, showcasing his continued development in the pool after a record-setting Ivy League Championship performance. His times reflect his status as a competitive swimmer at the national level, with several sub-1:44 finishes this season. Brown's next rowing event will be against Dartmouth on April 4, while track and field continues to build momentum heading into the outdoor season.
