Abby Klebe of the Lehigh women's track and field team set a new school record in the 1500 meters at the Sam Howell Invitational, clocking in at 4:22.32. This performance not only marked a personal best for Klebe but also solidified her position as the fastest 1500 meter runner in Lehigh history. In addition to Klebe's record-breaking run, Lauryn Heskin and Grace Hughes also excelled, with Heskin achieving a personal record of 4:26.11, making her the third fastest in program history. Jade Sanders secured Lehigh's only event victory of the weekend, winning the 400 meters with a time of 54.91, a 0.79-second personal best. Meanwhile, the men's track and field team also had a strong showing, with Daniel Givens placing third in the triple jump at the Sam Howell Invitational, leaping 14.43 meters, while Jaden Ferguson achieved notable finishes in both the high and long jump events.
In rowing, both the men's and women's teams faced off against multiple opponents at the Schuylkill River. The men's first varsity eight lost to Bucknell, finishing 9.2 seconds behind, while the women's first varsity eight was defeated by George Washington, clocking in at 6:57. The women did find success in the first varsity four race, defeating GW with a time of 7:28.3. However, the men's second varsity eight and the women's second varsity eight both narrowly lost their races, indicating a competitive day on the water.
Lehigh women's lacrosse faced Colgate in a high-scoring affair, ultimately falling 20-16. Karina Van der Walt led the Mountain Hawks with four goals, but the team struggled to maintain momentum after a strong start. The loss marks the beginning of a challenging road stretch for Lehigh, as they prepare for upcoming contests.
In wrestling, four Mountain Hawks were honored as NWCA Scholar All-Americans: JT Davis, Sheldon Seymour, Rylan Rogers, and Luke Stanich. Seymour and Stanich earned the accolade for the second consecutive year, showcasing the program's commitment to both academic and athletic excellence. Stanich also made headlines for his third-place finish at the NCAA Championships, further underscoring the team's competitive spirit this season.
