LaRoche Award for his character and contributions to Yale.
In men's lacrosse, the No. 12 Bulldogs dominated the University at Albany on Senior Day, winning 15-2 on April 19. Sean Grogan led the offensive charge with four goals and two assists, contributing to an impressive first-half shutout. Yale's victory improved their record to 8-4, showcasing a balanced attack with eight different players scoring.
The Yale softball team had a mixed series against Princeton, winning 7-6 in a dramatic 10-inning game on April 19, thanks to a walk-off hit from Elena Ohe. Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs fell 2-0 in the first game of the doubleheader, bringing their overall record to 14-27 and 5-13 in Ivy League play. In the thrilling second game, Yale rallied from an early deficit to secure the win, with Ohe's performance being a highlight of the day.
Yale baseball achieved a doubleheader sweep over Cornell on April 18, winning 16-5 and 6-3 to improve their overall record to 22-11 and take the lead in the Ivy League standings. The Bulldogs showcased offensive depth, with notable performances from Kaiden Dossa and Jack Dauer in the first game, and strong pitching from Ben Winslow in the second. This series win followed a tough loss to Cornell in the series opener on April 17, where Yale fell 5-3 despite a solid effort from Dossa, who continued his on-base streak.
In track and field, the Bulldogs had a successful outing at the Mark Young Invitational on April 18, with the men's team winning seven events. Constanza Acevedo broke her own javelin record, throwing 48.47 meters to lead the women's team. Owen Karas also made headlines by breaking the school record in the 5000 meters at the Wake Forest Invitational, finishing with a time of 13:47.74. Meanwhile, Linde Fonville moved up the all-time list in the women's 1500 meters, placing second at the Wake Forest meet.
Yale rowing had a competitive weekend, with the heavyweight crew team facing off against Penn and Columbia on April 18. The Bulldogs managed to secure a victory in the 3V race but fell short in the Blackwell and Colgan Cup races. The women's crew team retained the Eisenberg Cup with a strong performance against Princeton, defeating the Tigers and also besting Virginia in the varsity eight race.
In squash, three Bulldogs earned All-America honors as the College Squash Association recognized Tad Carney and Heng Wai Wong on the first team and Lachlan Sutton on the second team for their outstanding seasons. Carney's recognition marks his third consecutive year as an All-American, while Wong continues to excel in her second season.
Yale basketball announced Trevor Mullin as the captain for the upcoming 2026-27 season, following a successful junior year where he averaged 11.5 points per game. Mullin's leadership will be crucial as the team looks to build on their recent successes.
