Waterville, Maine - In a high-energy NESCAC matchup on Saturday afternoon, the Colby Men's Lacrosse team showcased a resilient offensive performance, ultimately falling just short against the Bantams of Trinity College with a final score of 13-11. Despite the result, the Mules out shot the Bantams 50-47 and matched them in the ground ball battle with 30 apiece.
Women’s Lacrosse Battles Trinity in Defensive Dual
HARTFORD, Conn. – The Colby College Women's Lacrosse team displayed defensive grit and a late-game scoring surge on Saturday afternoon, falling 12-7 to a high-powered Trinity College squad at Sheppard Field. Despite the final score, the Mules proved their resilience by holding the Bantams to their second-lowest scoring output of the month.
Men's Crew Faces Tough Test Against Defending National Champion
Worcester, Mass - #5 Colby Men's Crew returned to Worcester this weekend to race #1 Trinity, #6 Marietta, #9 Ithaca, and #10 WPI. The crews were met with grey skies, cool temps, and a light tailwind. In a rematch between four of the eight teams who were at IRAs last year, which included the defending national champion, The Mules were expecting some tough racing. In all three races, the Colby crews beat their opponents from Ithaca and WPI, but fell to Marietta and Trinity. After the racing, Head Coach Stew Stokes commented that "We knew going into today's racing that it would be a tough test, racing against four other ranked teams. Anytime you have four top-ten teams racing each other, you know it's going to be tense. Each of our crews had parts of the race that they can be proud of and build on, and we also found a lot of areas that we need to improve on. We look forward to getting back to work next week as we prepare for the President's Cup and two tough NESCAC opponents."
Women's Crew Sweeps in Worcester
Worcester, Mass - #10 Colby Women's Crew returned to Worcester this weekend to race WPI, Clark, and Connecticut College. The team was met with grey skies, cool temps, and a light tailwind. On the water, the Mules please the spectators with a thrilling performance. All three Colby crews won their races in great fashion. After the racing, Head Coach Stew Stokes commented that "We're very proud of the way CWC handled some really tough opponents. Winning all three races is a testament to the depth of the team, the hard work they've put in, and the progress they've made in the first few weeks of the season. We have a difficult test at the President's Cup against Bates and Bowdoin next week. Now we're turning our focus towards that."

While the final score favored the visitors 19-9, the Mules showcased strong individual performances and moments of momentum throughout the contest.
