University of Rochester women's swimming and diving sophomore Kaela Springer has made history by winning the three-meter competition at the NCAA Diving Regional, becoming the first NCAA Regional Diving Champion in the program's history. Her score of 461.45 points edged out second-place Lydia Benjamin from SUNY Geneseo by just over five points. In addition to her victory, Springer also secured a seventh-place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 408.25 points. This achievement qualifies her for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, marking her as the first Yellowjacket to compete at the DIII Championships since 2014-15.
In men's basketball, the Yellowjackets concluded their season with three players earning All-University Athletic Association honors. First-year Jordan Owusu was named the UAA Rookie of the Year, while seniors Corvin Oprea and Tomiwa Adetosoye received Second Team All-Association recognition. Oprea and Owusu each earned their first conference awards, while Adetosoye collected his second career All-UAA honor. Despite finishing the season with an 11-14 overall record and a 4-10 mark in UAA play, the team set a new single-season scoring record, averaging 82.3 points per game, surpassing the previous record from the 1963-64 season. The women's basketball team also wrapped up their season with graduate student Franki Gomez and sophomore Grace Corelli receiving Honorable Mention All-UAA accolades. Corelli, who led the team in scoring and rebounding, averaged 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, contributing to the Yellowjackets' 11-14 finish, including a notable victory on Senior Day against Brandeis.
