FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Despite securing a 34-33 lead at the break, the Amherst College men's basketball team was stifled by a hot-shooting University of Mary Washington roster in the second half of the contest on Saturday night, losing 81-64 against the Eagles in the second round of the NCAA Div. III Men's Basketball Championship, hosted by the University of Mary Washington.
#10 Mammoths fall 7-2 to Tufts in Howe Cup Consolation Play
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The #10 Amherst College women's squash team closed out its 2025–26 campaign with a hard-fought 7–2 defeat to #12 Tufts in the double consolation match of the Howe Cup on Saturday at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center. The nation's top 12 teams competed over the weekend in the premier national team event, and while Amherst could not overcome Tufts' depth in their third meeting of the season, the Mammoths finish strong at 15–6 after peaking at a #7 national ranking during a standout year.
#10 Mammoths dumped by Dartmouth in Howe Cup Consolation Match, 6-3
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The #10 Amherst College women's squash team fell 6–3 to #11 Dartmouth in the first consolation round of the Howe Cup on Friday at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center, the second day of the CSA National Team Championships featuring the top 12 teams in the nation. In a rematch of Amherst's 5–4 home win earlier this season, the Big Green flipped the script to advance, leaving the Mammoths to prepare for one final matchup in Philadelphia.
Mammoth Defensive Effort Leads to 63-46 Wipeout of WPI in NCAA Tournament First Round Clash
FREDRICKSBURG, VA -- Elias Chin scored 20 points Friday night while first-year K.J. Neville added 16 points and three assists and senior Drew Martin anchored the interior with 14 rebounds, helping the Amherst College men's basketball team control the glass by a decisive margin en route to a 63-46 defeat of WPI in an NCAA Div. III Tournament first round game played in the Ron Rosner Arena on the campus of pod host Mary Wahington University.
#10 Mammoths fall to Cornell in Howe Cup First Round
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The #10 Amherst College women's squash team opened its run at the 2026 CSA National Team Championships (Howe Cup) with a 9–0 loss to #7 Cornell in the round of 16 on Thursday at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center. The Howe Cup includes the top 12 teams in the nation. Amherst shares the draw with several Ivy League schools, as well as Stanford University. Tufts and Trinity were the other two qualifiers from NESCAC in addition to Amherst. The Mammoths dropped to 15–4 on the season in their final event of the year, with several courts going long and competitive before Cornell's depth prevailed.
Paige Arnold, Owen Vale named Student-Athletes of the Month for February
A pair of NESCAC champion swimmers, junior Paige Arnold and first-year Owen Vale, have been named Amherst's Student-Athletes of the Month for February.
Zhang Named NESCAC Co-Diver of the Year
AMHERST, Mass. - Amherst College senior Donna Zhang (Winchester Mass.) was chosen as the NESCAC Co-Diver of the Year, as it was announced on February 16. Zhang shares this title with Colby's Avery Rappaport.
Neville Named NESCAC Rookie of the Year
HADLEY, MA. -- First year guard K.J. Neville (North Memphis, Tenn.) was named the 2025-26 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, it was announced by the conference earlier today.
Chin and Hammond Earn All-NESCAC Nods
HADLEY, MA. -- Two members of the Amherst College men's basketball team were named to the All-NESCAC second team when they were announced today. Sophomore guard Elias Chin (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and senior guard/forward Chris Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) were accorded All-NESCAC honors for their play this season.
Mendell, McCarthy Earn All-NESCAC Recognition
HADLEY, MA. – Two members of the Amherst College women's basketball team were accorded All-NESCAC honors when they were announced today. Senior guards Laura Mendell (Westport, Mass.) and Annie McCarthy (Medfield, Mass.) were selected to the 2025-26 All-NESCAC Second Team honors for their play over the last few months.

Mammoth Men See Season End with 6-3 Loss to Navy in Hoehn Cup Play
PHILADELPHIA, PA— The Amherst College men's squash team closed its 2025–26 campaign on Sunday with a hard-fought 6–3 loss to fourth-seeded and 16th-ranked Navy in the Hoehn Cup, finishing 12–8 on the season and taking 4th place in the 2nd Division bracket of the CSA National Team Championships. Amherst had edged the Midshipmen 5–4 in the regular season, but Navy turned the tables in the postseason meeting to claim the rematch.
