MIT rookie Dalton Chi homered and scored a pair of runs but the University of Southern Maine scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning and four runs in the seventh inning to pull away for a 10-2 non-conference victory over the MIT baseball team on Saturday at Ed Flaherty Field.
Late Surge Helps Men’s Lacrosse Secure 20-11 Win Over Wheaton
NORTON, Mass. – A 5-1 run during the final 6:10 of regulation helped MIT thwart a comeback attempt by Wheaton College as it posted a 20-11 win in NEWMAC men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. Riley Pierce led all players with six goals, including two during the final stretch for the Engineers.
Big Second Half Helps No. 25 Women’s Lacrosse Defeat Coast Guard, 14-7
NEW LONDON, Conn. – In a battle of undefeated NEWMAC women's lacrosse teams, No. 25 MIT outscored the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 8-2, in the second half to pull away for a 14-7 victory on Saturday afternoon. Nina Petulla powered the Engineers with a game-high five goals to go along with four draw controls, one groundball, and one caused turnover.

No. 25 Women's Lacrosse Defeats Wheaton, 22-6; Flusche Breaks Career Draw Controls Record
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 25 MIT scored just 42 seconds into the game and never looked back as it went on to defeat Wheaton College, 22-6, in a NEWMAC women's lacrosse game on Wednesday night. In addition to producing three goals and one assist, Gwen Flusche collected four draw controls to break the career draw controls record of 274 that was set by Kira Schott '16. Jessica Chamberlin powered the Lyons with two goals and one assist.
Baseball Tops Clark in Rain-Shortened Contest, 9-1
Eitan Moore finished a triple shy of the cycle as the MIT baseball team earned a 9-1 NEWMAC victory over Clark University on Tuesday evening at Stein Diamond on the campus of Brandeis University. Tuesday's game was called in the top of the eighth inning due to heavy rain.
Comeback Attempt Falls Short as Williams Defeats MIT, 14-13
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A four-goal run in the fourth quarter brought MIT within one with 2:36 left to play, but it would not be enough as Williams College held on for a 14-13 victory in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Tuesday night. Collin Lung amassed 16 saves for the Engineers while Nick Reich and Ryan Nagle both had hat tricks for the Ephs.
Montgomery Named NEWMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
MIT women's track and field senior Krystal Montgomery has been named the NEWMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 12, 2026. The honor is the second of Montgomery's career and the first of this season.
Vien Earns NEWMAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week Honors
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – MIT's Pauline Vien was named the NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 12. This is the third time she has received this award and the second this season.
