Navy women's lacrosse concluded a remarkable season by claiming the Patriot League Championship, defeating Bucknell 18-8 in the semifinals and then besting #13 Army 17-11 in the final. This victory not only secured the Midshipmen's second consecutive title but also marked their highest NCAA Tournament seed in program history at No. 6. Alyssa Chung's standout performance throughout the tournament earned her Tournament MVP honors, as she recorded 12 points, including a team-high 10 goals. Additionally, Chung has been named a finalist for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, becoming the first player in Navy women's lacrosse history to achieve this honor. The Midshipmen will host UMass in the NCAA Tournament First Round on Friday at 3:00 p.m., with the potential to advance to the second round against either Syracuse or Loyola.
In baseball, the Midshipmen finished the regular season with a 30-17 record, securing a spot in the Patriot League Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The team split a doubleheader against Army, winning the first game 7-4 but falling 16-4 in the second. Junior pitcher Brady Bendik was named the 2026 Patriot League Pitcher of the Year, leading a total of seven Midshipmen to All-Patriot League honors. The team will face second-seeded Bucknell in the semifinal series starting Saturday.
Men's golf is making headlines as well, having won the 2026 Patriot League Championship, which secures their place in the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This marks the Midshipmen's first NCAA Championship appearance since 2018. Team captain Jack Tarzy also earned Academic All-Patriot League honors, reflecting both his athletic and academic excellence.
In squash, Alexander Orr and Matthew Kang received the College Squash Association Scholar-Athlete Award, recognizing their achievements on the court and in the classroom. Their commitment to both academics and athletics exemplifies the values of the Naval Academy.
Finally, the men's basketball program announced the hiring of Quentin Acree as an assistant coach. Acree joins the staff with a strong background in player development and recruitment, aiming to help build a competitive program under head coach Jon Perry. His experience at Christopher Newport University positions him well to contribute to the Midshipmen's future success.
