Colby Men's Crew Sweep WPI, Hamilton, and Vassar to Start Spring Season
Worcester, Mass - #7 Colby Crew made the trip down to Worcester this weekend for their season opener, competing for the Class of 2003 Cup with #2 Wesleyan, #8 WPI, #12 Hamilton, and Vassar. Lake Quinsigamond greeted the team with partly sunny skies, moderate temps, and a tailwind that made for quick conditions.The Mules executed a clean sweep of WPI, Hamilton, and Vassar, yet fell to Wesleyan's strong crews. With a great early season result, Men's Crew returns to Maine hungry for more.
Men’s Lacrosse Falls Short to No. 16 Amherst Despite Resilient Offense
Amherst, Mass. - In a NESCAC battle that came down to the final minutes, Colby Men's Lacrosse showcased a high-powered offense and a resilient defense against the Mammoths of Amherst College on Saturday afternoon. Though the final score favored the Mammoths 11-10, the Mules dominated the early stages of the game and staged a late-game surge to keep the contest in the balance until the very end.
Women's Crew Sets The Tone for Colby in Exciting Season Opener
Worcester, Mass - #12 Colby Crew made the trip down to Worcester this weekend for their season opener, competing for the Jennifer McLaughlin Cup with #4 Smith, #6 Wesleyan, and WPI. Lake Quinsigamond greeted the team with partly sunny skies, moderate temps, and a tailwind that made for quick conditions. The Mules came ready to throw down, and throw down they did. Colby Women's Crew swept WPI and won the first varsity race. They returned to Maine with the Jennifer McLaughlin Cup for the first time since 2007.
Following Winter, Colby 25th in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings
Cleveland, Ohio - After finishing the fall season in 36th place, the Mules has moved up to the 25th spot following success from Colby's winter teams in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings for Division III. NCAA Championship performances from Alpine and Nordic Skiing, Women's Swimming & Diving, as well as the Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field team, have totaled 194.50 points towards the standings adding on to Colby's 166 points from the fall.
Mules Set Records and Climb History Books at Emory Thrills in the Hills
Atlanta, Ga. — The Colby College track & field teams turned in a record-setting performance at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, held March 26-28 at Emory University, with Simone Waheed breaking a school record and multiple Mules earning all-time program marks across both sides.
