Shane Regan, a graduate student at the University of Chicago, has been named a First-Team All-American by D3hoops.com, marking a significant achievement in the program's history. Regan led the Maroons with an impressive average of 19.5 points and 5.3 assists per game this season, including a historic triple-double— the first in the program's history—against Rochester. He capped his season ranked in the top ten for several single-season statistics at UChicago, including third in assists and points. Alongside Regan, teammate Nick Roper also earned First-Team All-District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, while head coach Mike McGrath was recognized as the District VIII Coach of the Year.
In women's basketball, four players were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team: Kate Gross, Chris Sanders, Annabelle Spotts, and Caroline Workman. Gross, who appeared in all 28 games this season, led the team in assists and finished her career with notable statistics, while Sanders contributed significantly to the team's success, averaging double figures in points per game.
The University of Chicago women's lacrosse team faced a challenging matchup against top-ranked Middlebury, ultimately falling 13-6. Despite a tough start, the Maroons rallied with goals from Kelly Callaghan and Kaylin Oey, showcasing their resilience against the five-time defending national champions.
In swimming, junior Cooper Costello excelled at the NCAA Championships, winning five national titles and setting a record in the 100 Fly with a time of 45.85 seconds. His performance contributed to the Maroons' third-place finish at the national meet. Meanwhile, senior Veronica Fong earned UAA Women's Diver of the Week honors after securing All-America accolades in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, helping her team to a seventh-place finish overall.
The University of Chicago wrestling team also made headlines, earning the NCAA Division III Men's Team Scholar Award and placing nine student-athletes on the Scholar All-America Team. The Maroons achieved a team GPA of 3.7032, ranking ninth among all Division III teams, reflecting their commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic achievement.
